Steppin' Out, Dennis and Brenda a two piece duo worked together as professional musicians from the mid 1970's, working in several larger bands before breaking off into Steppin' Out in the 1980’s. They were originally a trio with Skip Nallia for a couple of years before becoming a duo using tracks they made in their recording studio giving them the sound of a larger band. They worked extensively in and around the Houston, Clear Lake and Galveston, Texas area.
In 1987 they were offered the house band position at The Renaissance PineIsle Resort Hotel just outside of Atlanta Georgia on Lake Lanier Islands. They worked there for 17 years and on January 1st, 2005 they moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas to be close to their family. They worked various country clubs, private parties and weddings after moving to Fort Smith for several years while establishing their recording studio business there. They are now retired from performing live but still own and operate SmithTrax Recording Studio in Muldrow Oklahoma just outside of Fort Smith Arkansas.

When Steppin’ Out performed live, they mixed the drums and keys off of the tracks in the studio and performed those live with the tracks as well as the lead vocals and what background vocals they sang live. All the vocals you hear on the recordings are actually all them as well as allot of the instrumentation. Most of the live guitars are actually our studio musicians and musician buddy’s of theirs.. Some of the other music tracks outside of the drums and percussion are also some other studio musicians as well..
